A high specification refurbishment and conversion project in one of the capital’s most desirable areas has seen the specialist fit out contractor making extensive use of Marmox Multiboards, chosen for their outstanding stability and ease of use as a tile backer board.
Much of the work within the period property located in South-West London’s Grosvenor Place, is being carried out by a Kent based building contractor, which has employed Multiboards for a variety of challenges in both commercial and residential developments, going so far as switching specifications where inferior alternatives had been proposed by the design consultant or main contractor. In this case the 6 and 12 mm Multiboards were secured down across new and existing sub-floors to take out differences in level, prior to laying ceramic floor tiles in bathrooms, wet-rooms and cloakrooms.
Marmox Multiboards are manufactured from extruded polystyrene or XPS and offer a range of positive physical characteristics in addition to being fully waterproof. They are both light to handle and easy to cut, while still being able to carry substantial loadings if employed as part of a flooring build up. They further offer good acoustic as well as thermal insulation performance.
